Use this planning checklist to separate site readiness, final-clean tasks and the last touch-up before handoff.

The short answer
A successful final clean starts after dusty trades and major punch-list work are complete. Heavy debris, tools and hazardous materials should be removed first; then the cleaning scope can address fine dust, surfaces, fixtures, interior glass and floors before inspection or occupancy.
Site-readiness checklist
- Dust-producing cutting and sanding are complete
- Heavy debris, trade waste and tools are removed
- Permanent lighting and safe utilities are available
- Areas are accessible and no active trade work creates hazards
- Delicate finishes and manufacturer restrictions are identified
- A site contact and target handoff date are confirmed
Final-clean planning checklist
- Accessible horizontal and vertical surfaces
- Cabinet, shelf and fixture interiors when included
- Interior glass, frames, tracks and ledges
- Labels and light surface residue approved for removal
- Vacuuming and detailed floor cleaning by surface type
- Restrooms, kitchens and completed common areas
- Final walkthrough and documented corrections
Rough clean, final clean and touch-up
A rough clean supports the project before every finish is complete. A final clean prepares completed spaces for inspection or handoff. A touch-up addresses dust, footprints and marks created by remaining walkthroughs or punch-list work after the final clean.

- Paint, adhesive, grout haze or residue that may damage finishes
- High-access work requiring lifts or specialty equipment
- Hazardous materials, mold, biohazards or regulated waste
